It’s actually very other worldly, watching what’s happening these days – almost like a prelude to one of Octavia Butler’s books, may she rest in peace. I generally stay away from the news because I understand it is geared to arrange our thinking for us but sometimes it’s good to see just what they are having us believe.

Each generation has thought they were in the presence of the infamous Armaggedon. I suppose this generation is no different. It is just that the energy of the universe in total is moving at a much more rapid pace than ever before and everything appears to be escalated. In addition, we actually hear “them” using the “A” word, something I think has never happened before.

What is even more other worldly is having the opportunity to practice what has been preached over the years by overcoming fear. Not allowing fear – be it fear phobia or whichever form it chooses to take – to take precedence over my life, to know I am co-author of my reality and most importantly, to breathe. Simply breathe. How wonderfully refreshing, cleansing and invigorating a simple deep breath can be.

It is then that I remember who I am and understand that which I need and seek to help me understand the madness is actually inside of me and accessible at all times. The effects of such remembrance is why fear is so crucial in the world by those who would prefer to pretend they are in control. Fear is explained by many as False Evidence Appearing Real. I don’t know from whence the definition originated, but it is so very apropos.

Fear is an emotion. Emotions are useful tools in making us aware of situations we might possibly ignore. Sometimes the situations might possibly put us in harm’s way. We are to acknowledge the emotion and move on. Many times, we hold on to the emotion and it begins to control us. When we realize we are in the throes of the emotion, it is too late. We can only ride the wave until it spends itself.

When we are not controlled by emotion, we can think clearly. More importantly, we can hear clearly. Our connection to our higher consciousness is not cloudied and we can better understand the most efficacious direction to take. How do you conquer fear By breathing. It is as easy as that.

Just breathe.
